e107 v1.0.1 forums not working

Im tryng to recover ~7000 posts in an old e107 v1.0.1 site. I still have the original database, files of the site and got it only working with a WAMP setup.

Now im only able to view 1 forum(forum_viewforum.php), all the other forums give me an ERR_CONNECTION_RESET

If i click on the last topic in the forum(forum_viewtopic.php) i can see the topic without any problems.

Anyone have an idea what might cause this? I can login on the site and have full admin rights.

You already gave the culprit : php 5.6.25

As you are using v1.0.1 that is even older . V1.0.4 (latest of that line) runs nicely up to php version 5.3.

So you are facing 2 things : a php version that is too new for your version AND the version in use is old (should have been upgraded few years back).

Best solution was to ask host if you are able to run php 5.3 max. ( it is also related to mysql).

If this is not possible you will have to (local on pc) (keeping the backups stored!!) to update to v1.0.4.

Since that version also does not realy wants to run on php 5.6 than maybe v2.. Again local update from v1.0.1 to 1.0.4 to v2  (do not use the fresh github files, but a between v2 version).Keep checking if it all wants to run and if still fine> ultimately go to the latest files...

Keep us informed, if some extra info is needed...

Hi, thanks for the reply!

I can change the PHP version myself, so no problem there. I'm just looking for a quickfix, the site itself doesn't have to be online 24/7. It's just to gather old posts.

I remember upgrading it to v2 gave a lot of problems.

How can i upgrade from v1.0.1 to v1.0.4? By using the v1.0.3 to v1.0.4 here: http://old.e107.org/download/ ?

Here you can find all versions (except the 'build version). These here can be 'seen' as (in point in time) release versions. https://sourceforge.net/projects/e107/files/e107/
